IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE INFLUENCE ON SOCIETY.
Andres Coronel, also known as Immortal Technique, is more than just an underground Hip Hop legend- he is also an activist, humanitarian and revolutionist. Born in Peru and raised in Harlem, the legend has struck a chord with those seeking n alternative voice in Hip Hop. He represents a thorn in the side of the mainstream with his messages about the social struggle, religion, government and institutional racism.
Today, he spends his time working on philanthropic causes, much of is work has been centered in Harlem. His life's work is truly with the people, during the height of the pandemic in 2020, he stated his own charity organization ,THE REBEL ARMY to take care of the elders in his community and many others around the U.S. Along with donating to various charity organisations worldwide.
While incarcerated in his youth, he picked up a pen to unknowingly pioneer a new generation of artists and alike listeners, during his parole in the late nineties he took rap by storm and dominated the world of underground Hip Hop, being one of the first rappers in a freshly post -9/11 to amplify the dark history of the U.S.
Best known for backing up his rap with action and wide range from mentoring youth in prison to building an orphanage in Afghanistan funded by his album, THE THIRD WORLD. He also helped in rebuilding Haiti after 2010's devastating earthquake and handing out water and supplies to Mexico, his life's work is truly with people.
He's worked directly with members of the original black panther party like AFENI SHAKUR! political prisoners and activists. He has spoken at prestigious universities such as HARVARD, COLOMBIA and more. He has made appearance on CNN, FOX,, THE JOE REGAN EXPERIENCE .THE DESUS AND MERO SHOW, MTV AND BET to mention but a few.
He used his message to take Hip Hop back to it's politically charged roots ,and always he has highly criticized those in power in his album REVOLUTIONARY VOL 1 which went on to became one of the most pirated independent projects today.
